Prof. Maria Careri Research Award “Medaglia Giovanni Canneri” 2023

Prof. Maria Careri, Professor of Analytical Chemistry of the Department of Chemical Sciences, Life and Environmental Sustainability of the University of Parma, on the occasion of the XXX National Conference of the Analytical Chemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society has been awarded with the “Giovanni Canneri Medal” for the year 2023, awarded to who has distinguished himself for research in the field of Analytical Chemistry. The scientific relevance of the research conducted by Prof. Careri has led to excellent results characterized by strong innovation in the field of sensors for the detection of biomarkers for diagnostic purposes and ifenate techniques based on mass spectrometry both in the fundamental aspects of techniques and in the interdisciplinary aspects associated with biomedical applications, Forensics, environmental, food quality and safety and in proteomics. It has also fostered the creation of networks of national and international collaborations contributing to the creation of the European infrastructure METROFOOD-RI and national infrastructure PNRR METROFOOD-IT, thanks to which the University of Parma can provide advanced metrological services for the quality, safety, and authenticity of food.
